Hostal Mama Hilda is a family run hostal in the small town of Chugchilan on the Quilotoa Loop. We are ideally situated half way around the loop and have been welcoming guests to our hostal for many years.

EntranceWe're a popular, inexpensive hostal that is a great place to base your exploration of the surrounding area. If you're looking for somewhere to relax and take in the breath taking views offered by the Ecuadorian Andes, this is the place to be.

Feeling adventurous, we have a small herd of horses which are available to you every day. They're very friendly horses and have been taking our guests (and our children) on trips around the cloud forest for years.

Estancia dayAll our food is cooked onsite, with the exception of our desserts. These are normally made by the Italian Monastery down the road which also provides us with our freshly made pasta. Our dinners are big, make no mistake. Every day our team produces a 3 course meal - guaranteed to
keep your energy up ready for the day ahead.

The newest edition to the hostal is a new lounge bar. A team of local crafstmen worked for 6 weeks on turning the old, original building into a comfortable lounge area. All the materials have been sourced from the hostal's land, and all the furniture was built specially for us by the Italian Monestary and their exceptionally gifted children.

Estancia at nightPlease take a look around our site, we're constantly adding new photos and information on things to do not only in Chugchilan, but also the rest of
Ecuador too. We are busy, especially over the summer months so we strongly recommend that you book with us by clicking on the Contact Us page.
