El Refugio (The Refuge) holds our Superior Ensuite Rooms, complete with bathrooms and a chimnea for those cold Andean nights. This building contains 3 rooms in total, all split over two floors. The ground floor holds the master bedroom, chimnea and ensuite bathroom, the upper floor holds bunk beds - ideal for a family.

Two of the rooms hold 4-6 people, whilst the middle room can hold up to 8 comfortably. The building also has it's own balcony with hammocks, and offers excellent views over the Hostal's gardens, across the Rio Toachi canyon and on up to the Quilotoa crater wall on the horizon.

The chimneas are guaranteed to keep you warm during even the coldest Andean night. Our staff will show you how to light this on your first day, and every day after that if you wish.
